Message I'm debating whether to change the oil at 1000km, at the advice of my Nissan mechanic and my friend, based on the fact that that first 1000km of wear/breakin on the engine is when the oil probably has maximum crap (metal particles, etc) in it.

But the Nissan satisfaction guy that presented my new car to me explicitedly said that I shouldn't change the oil UNTIL the first 6000km interval, claiming that there is special break-in oil in the engine from the factory, and it needs to stay in there to properly lubricate everything, etc.

What should I do? Who's advice should I follow?

Thanks.
